Hi, I'm Lindsay! Owner of this humble little businesses that I love. ❤️ I started out in a booth, then opened a full retail store, and two years later (shortly after giving birth to my second son), closed up shop, going back to a booth. Why? The motherhood journey I had envisioned before kids was one that always aimed to be as present as possible. Those little years are long, but go by so fast and I wanted to cherish each milestone. And although my children were in-shop with me, my store was all-consuming. My oldest loved being at the store, but my newborn didn't adapt so well, and the stress of trying to manage everything had a huge impact on my family's life. So, I decided to shutdown. It was simultaneously the most difficult yet the easiest decision I've ever made. I had poured SO MUCH of everything I had into it for so long, only to close up before it truly became what it could have been. But my babies (and my husband) are my safe place, my home. And one had to go to make enough room for the other, so I closed my doors.
Although I still shed a few tears now and then, I'm so happy going back to the basics. I have a booth in another store in town (Red Poppy Pickin' in Mechanicsville!), and being behind the scenes, simply creating is where my soul is just in pure bliss. I'm able to try new things much more often and bring you all new looks, new tips and tricks, and much more. I hope you'll continue to follow along, because although one, seemingly large chapter closed, it made way for an entirely new spin on The Boho Basement. 😘
